Introducing
Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout
Barrel Aged Russian Imperial StoutPoring over the stories of Medicine Hat and its historical breweries taught us a few things about time and all the wonderful change it brings. Our vault series is about finding those few timeless styles worth preserving precisely as they are.
This 10.1% beauty has been aged for one year in Jack Daniels Barrels. The flavours, aromas, and characteristics are enhanced when the temperature rises from Tap Cold (6-9℃) closer to 11–13℃. Enjoy this Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout immediately or age it further in a cool, dark place.
In this deliciously dark brew, subtle notes of dried cherries, fig, fine-grind espresso, and licorice complement the impressive body of chocolate, vanilla, toffee, and roasted Albertan barley. We recommend allowing this strong ale to warm in a snifter or tulip before enjoying, giving the flavours time to develop and open up in the glass.
